It was a pretty fun parade. Lots of dogs, and I mean lots of dogs. People dressed them up in the craziest outfits and they were in the parade. So funny. After the parade we headed to go find the place where the fireworks were going to be lit off. We found a parking spot, and they were having a food truck gathering. A bunch of the local food trucks were all right off the beach so that is where we had lunch. Adam had a burger, and I got some Korean BBQ, and it was delish. They also had a cupcake food truck and of course we couldn't pass that up. After we ate we headed back to the beach to wait for the fireworks. We had quite a long time to wait so we sat on the beach and watched some surfers. I don't know how anyone could get in that water. First off it was like 60 something degrees outside and the water was definitely a lot colder than that. Who would have thought beginning of July would be so cold.
We went and found a little bit more secluded section of beach to sit and wait for the fireworks to go off. It was a super cold day so we were all bundled up in our hoodies. Yet my feet and hands still got sunburned. SO weird.
Adam found a pizza place and got us a pizza for dinner and then it was finally dark enough to start the fireworks. Well it had been super foggy all day and it had let up a bit around 4 o'clock and started to come back as the sun went down. And it stayed. It was definitely the most interesting firework show I have ever seen. Mostly because all you saw was a burst of color behind a ton of fog.
After the fireworks show we headed back to our car to go back home. It took us over 45 minutes just to get out of the parking lot. Then another 45 to get back home, but it was super fun. And we enjoyed and super relaxing day on the beach.
