It has been another long month. I haven't taken a day off work since April when we went home for the family reunion. We had a meeting at work two weeks ago and they were giving away a bunch of prizes for different things and they had one for the person who did the most haircuts in the month of May, well I was the winner (mostly because I hadn't taken a day off the whole month) with 355 haircuts. Yes you did read that right I did 355 haircuts in the month of May. The person in 2nd place had like 260 something, so I beat them by a lot. So I won 15 dollars (it was a nice little extra to add to our Disneyland fund). So we finally took some time off Friday and Saturday and headed down to Zions with our friends Breezy and Gabel. It was a lot of fun. We did the narrows on Friday and it was a blast. We went and bought some Teva sandals before we left so we wouldn't have to wear our tennis shoes in the water, well it was a good idea but those sandals really tore up my feet. Both my big toes got tore up and the sandals rubbed off a good 2 inches of skin. It hurts pretty bad but it was totally worth it. We started from the bottom and hiked about 4 miles in then turned around and hiked back. Then we went to St. George and stayed the night at my Aunt and Uncle's house. We woke up the next morning ate some delicious waffles and headed back to Zions. Unfortunately our camera was left on and the batteries died so we don't have any pictures from day 2 but we did the canyon overlook hike, very short but had a nice view once we got to the top. Then we headed down to the a restaurant in zions to watch the USA game. Very disappointing to see USA lose but I was so glad that we got to see the game. We headed back up to Zions and visited the Visitors Center and this photography shop. We were pretty pooped by then so we decided to start heading back home. We stopped in Manti to see the pageant, unfortunately we all pretty much slept through the entire thing. So we left a little early to beat the traffic and headed back to Provo. Overall, great fun with great friends. It was a nice break from the usual work, work, and work.
News on us... Adam just got called to be the Elder's Quorum President of our ward. We are a little nervous about it, but Adam is excited to start serving. We are counting down the days til our real vacation 9 more days and we will be on our way to Arizona, then to California for Disneyland, and the beach, then to Vegas. It will be a great 2 week time of no worries and having fun.
Here are some pics from Zions...
